Trip with Daughter's (Son's) Friend :

Man/Woman is going to take his daughter/son and her/his friend on his trip to Europe. At the last minute daughter/son has to cancel. The dad/mom assumes the friend has been notified, but as s/he is sitting on the plane for take off the friend arrives to sit next to him/her just as the plane closes its doors, not having found out about the cancellation.
